Very nice.
Just tried this out and it works fine for me (Drupal 5.2, IMCE 1.8.2.30) for a single image. I selected multiple values, but if I select a second image, it overwrites the first one.
One other minor thing: in your _theme_image function, it might be better if you use lowercase letters for the image code, in keeping with Drupal's outputted code formatting.
Other than those two things, the module is good. You should definitely put it up on drupal.org.
